ALIGNER ODOR - Most aligners absorb compounds that become permanently embedded and can create offensive odors, especially after two weeks in the oral cavity. A simple way of minimizing these smells is to immerse the aligners for 15-20 minutes in a solution which is  2/3 water and 1/3 white vinegar or a denture cleaner tablet.

POSTERIOR IPR - Many experts in sequential aligner therapy are choosing posterior IPR to primarily create space in lieu of reducing the anterior segment. IPR in between canines and premolars or between the premolars is far less technique sensitive and more forgiving in terms of  disrupting anterior tooth morphology. Once space is created to alleviate crowding in the anteriors by both expansion and posterior IPR, having the option of  anterior IPR to minimise residual black triangles is particularly useful, especially in older patients where bone loss is common.
